Conservation, Causes, and Community

As recycling and conservation become more a part of our daily life and dialogue - with increased emphasis on alternative fuels, new hybrid car models, curbside recycling pick-up, the 2006 barnstorming of Al Gore’s documentary, An Inconvenient Truth - we at Wolper are investigating and initiating practices to make our business more efficient and environmentally friendly.

As you will begin to notice in our regular communications with you, we will be promoting our paperless option to customers wherein we will send e-mail notification that your invoices are posted securely online and available for printing at your discretion.

We also just made new hardware and software investments so we can do more paperless storage of information in the office, scanning and saving documents electronically. And we’re collecting paper and other recyclables to keep them out of the solid waste stream.

We will continue to brainstorm and evaluate other changes designed to minimize waste and conserve resources without sacrificing operational or service quality. If you have suggestions for us, please feel free to pass them along. It’s your business, too; after all, we’re all on this planet, sharing the same finite space and resources, together!

For the last decade, Wolper Subscription Services has supported the American Cancer Society’s life-saving mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease by participating in Daffodil Days.

President and CEO Susan Wolper buys flowers for the employees at her home office in Easton, PA, saying, “It’s a great way to support an important cause.”

Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society’s oldest and most beloved fundraising programs. As the first flower of spring, the daffodil was chosen to symbolize hope and renewal. Over the past 13 years, the program has raised more than $200 in gross revenue toward creating a world free of cancer. Wolper is proud to be part of that fight.

Wolper also supports the arts as a long-time member of the State Theatre of the Arts, a 1,545-seat restored historic site that hosts a wide variety of live performances year-round, from “A list” musical acts to acrobats and comedians.

Wolper also will be fielding a walking team for the first time ever in this fall’s Women’s 5k Classic in the Lehigh Valley. The event is a fund-raiser for breast cancer awareness, research and services and has generated and awarded more than $1 million during its 15 years of existence.
