E-Resource Access and Management Tools

Brought to you by Wolper Subscription Services

Powered by TDNet

Thanks to a multi-year strategic alliance struck in 2008 with one of the world’s leading providers of e-journal access and management tools, Wolper now offers powerful e-resources along with its more traditional, time-tested subscription management services and extraordinary customer care.

With the growth of electronic media and the heightened demand on enterprises to be able to access information anytime, anywhere, customers are looking for dynamic, multi-faceted tools and services that will enable them to fully leverage their information assets. This partnership accomplishes that by providing an integrated, end-to-end solution that reduces cost and complexity and improves productivity.

Stand-alone or in any combination, the suite of TDNet E-resource solutions includes the following:

Journal Manager… Central access point for browsing, searching and accessing the library’s journal resources. Includes A-Z title list display, TOCs, holdings updates, usage statistics and end-user current awareness tools. Optional document delivery function.

TOUResolver… TDNet’s NISO-compliant openURL-enabled full-text resolver. Goes beyond ordinary link resolvers by incorporating TDNet’s Tables of Contents into the knowledgebase to enhance resolver accuracy and provide the best available links to full text.

Document delivery, too… Through our relationship with TDNet, we can also offer document delivery via British Library Direct Plus, a new subscription-based service jointly developed by TDNet and British Library, combining TDNet’s federated search and post-search analysis with British Library’s document supply service. British Library Plus enables users to simultaneously search BL’s own Electronic Table of Contents, PubMed Central and Google Scholar as well as other external and internal databases as pre-selected by the library. Navigation through on-the-fly generated subject clustering enhances the user’s recognition of the most meaningful search results and facilitates browsing of relevant content. Users can subsequently order copies of full-text through BL document supply service with a credit card or an account. The solution also offers optional features and modules, such as A to Z Journal & eBook Manager, Open URL Resolver, Statistics Manager and more.

Searcher Analyzer… A powerful research tool that goes beyond ordinary federated searching by performing an on-the-fly article analysis that clusters the search results into specific concepts. This unique post-search analysis allows users to quickly find the articles they need from the array of search results available from the full-text resources, A&I index databases, online catalogs, websites and local repositories in your collection.

E-Book Manager… NEW! Provides tools for accessing, resolving and managing your e-book holdings. Users can search and access e-books or perform simultaneous searches of journals and books through the available integration with TDNet’s Journal Manager service. Users can also access e-book content through TOUResolver, TDNet’s OpenURL link resolver. A comprehensive e-book Knowledge Base features automatic aggregator and publisher collection updating.

Holdings Manager… Updates your local catalog with CONSER MARC records, Brief MARC records, or other data options for maintaining the e-journal information and links in your library’s OPAC. Weekly or monthly basis.

Knowledgebase… TDNet’s proprietary repository of metadata based on the industry’s most comprehensive database of journals, e-books, e-TOCs, open access journals, online & internal databases, with rich metadata down to the article level. Updated daily to reflect the latest changes in content, coverage and links. Reflects customer holdings subset.
